Kindle TBR confession thread!

Just set the filters to "books" "unread" and was shocked to find that my total is 160!!! In my defence, some of those were free or very cheap offers that I really shouldn't have got. Many of them were from decades ago. Still....no more buying books for me. What's your total?

I’m pleasantly surprised as I’ve been trying to reduce them this year.
I only get things on the daily deal now, and only if I really want to read them.

I try not to think about it.
I have three lots of tbr.

  1. is audiobooks
  2. is kindle
  3. physical books.
then I see others I want to get through and do them first. I’m like a magpie …. Oh a new shiny book all sparkly.

Oof it’s 700, and I have a physical one almost as high but I do share my kindle with my husband! Plus it’s my main hobby and I read a lot I think.

I try to buy nothing til my birthday in April each year but I just really enjoy having a lot of choice.

Mine is probably around 1000. I've had a kindle for a decade but sadly don't read as much as I should.

I now only allow myself to buy books that I really want if they're 99 p.

OP you may like to know that they have a word for this in Japan Tsondoku

I have 330 when I filter on unread but looking through what's shown I've definitely read some of those. Good prompt for a New Year's resolution to get them read!

My default filter is unread.
I only buy free books - daily BookBub email and buy all the free ones I think I might read.
Means I have plenty to chose from 🙂

I've been "collecting" Kindle books for about a decade and probably 90% of those were 99p buys...

895 unread versus 251 read. Blush I've had my Kindle for 11 years and used to go crazy in the 99p sales so I knew it would be bad, but I'm quite shocked it's so high. What a waste of money! I don't buy Kindle books any more unless I know I'll read them right away.

Ha, ha I thought I was going to be told off for being wasteful. You lot make me feel a lot better. 😁I'm determined to get that number down this year though. We'll have to check in next December to see how we've all done!

How do I use this filter?
On my kindle in the top left hand corner there is a symbol that allows you to filter by different categories.

100 in my kindle and 55 in audible - I may have a problem 😂

I use audio books to keep us alive when driving else my mind wanders and I forget how I got anywhere.

I read a far lot less these days ... usually just holidays and specific new releases.

Phew this has made me feel alot better...I have 28 unread kinde books, mainly 99p ones I liked the sound of. Don't know what to do know with the ones I don't like the sound of anymore wg I bought them a few years ago, it seems awful to delete them but I don't know if I actually want to read them!

Mine is about 1000 just on the kindle, let alone hard copy books and audible. I need to win the lottery so I can take a year or two off to catch up!

108 - not too bad. A lot of them I won’t ever read as they’re ones that were free or cheap and I was click-happy.

Real, physical books are my big problem as I don’t have the space and yet keep buying more.

I have probably around 1000. I'm another one who gets click happy on the free or cheap ones, plus I've had my kindle for many many years.

Im a saddo who has all my books in a spreadsheet, I mark off what I've read and when, then then add it up at the end of the year. I also add notes if it was particularly shite or part of a series so I know what order to read the books in.

I just tried this but they say unread for nearly all of I leave at 97% but it's actually finished 🙈
