I've just finished all of the Maeve Kerrigan books and loved them! But what next?
I liked the Simon Serraillier series, Rivers of London and the Helen Fields series.
Have I read everything? What now?

I have read all Jane Casey's books and loved them, and have just read a review copy via NetGalley of the one due out in March. Obviously I can't say any more Grin

I love Robert Galbraith and Dorothy L Sayers (natch) - and Georgette Heyer (Jane Casey is a GH fan) if you want to shift genres. GH does often have a mystery in her romance novels.

My feeling is that there are not nearly enough authors writing great crime with a 'will they won't they' subplot, so if anyone knows of others, please tell me.

Elly Griffith’s Brighton series has just the right amount of ‘will they won’t they’ imho.
Both series are great.
I’m reading An English Murder, by Cyril Hare atm, and I think he’s written a series that I definitely would like to read. Very good.

Thanks so much. @LadyPeterWimsey I agree re Heyer and I’m super jealous you’ve read the new one.
@ThatshallotBaby Thanks I’ll have a look.

@GailTheFish Thanks. I’m sure I’ve read one or have one somewhere. I’ll revisit. @craggyrat Gamache is a definite thank you.
I’ve made a list of all the suggestions.
Everyone has been brilliant.

I love the Jane CaseyMaeve Kerrigan series, even better in my opinion is the Logan MacRae series by Stuart MacBride. Everyone in the series is so real.

I love the Maeve Kerrigan series. I asked Jane Casey on Twitter. Apparently, the next one is due out early in 2023.

I’ve enjoyed the PI Hanlon series by Alex Coombs.

Try Tana French, the Vera or Shetland books, the Elly Griffiths series is good.

Im desperate for a new crime series. Just sadly downloaded the 5th Jackson Brodie. I like it, but I don't love it. And I want another Tana French or Robert Galbraith I race through. Will have a look at some of the suggestions on here.

Set in Tudor Times , CJ Sansom Shardlake series is very good. Not sure if that fits ?
