Kindle Unlimited, any good books?

Any recommendations?

I've started a few and stopped because they're just not really very well written. I'm determined to get my money's worth now but I'm getting a bit frustrated!

Any genres considered 😃

We got a cheap deal for Kindle unlimited at Christmas. DH has been reading the DC Ryan series by L J Ross.

I've found a few British Library Crime Classics - golden age mysteries. Also found some British Library Women's Writers books, which are mid 20thC literature. I enjoyed Tea Is So Intoxicating by Mary Essex recently. Currently reading My Husband Simon by Mollie Panter-Downes.

We don't plan to keep Kindle Unlimited much longer though, only until we've finished reading our selection because we don't want to pay full price for it - I don't think it's worth it in the long run. I can get most of the books I want from our local library tbh.

Currently on my kindle unlimited pile I have
Murder in the Basement
Mystery in the Channel
These names make clues
Hogs Back Mystery
Blood on the tracks - These are all British Library Classics
A very english murder (crime)
The Domestic Revolution - Ruth Goodman (fact)
Friday the Rabbi Slept Late (crime)
The Allingham Casebook (crime)
The girl with seven names, escape from North Korea (fact)
Lisbon - Berlitz travel guide
The deadly mystery of the missing diamonds (crime)
Doctor Satan (true crime)
You may notice a theme 😂

Not many! I quit after a month as it’s mostly writer for Amazon junk. I did read The Stone Angel (& the whole trilogy is on there) but Canadian feminist literature of the 60s may be a tiny bit niche! (Though lovely)

I don't find it to be worth it personally. You will occasionally get something you've actually heard of and want to read, but the majority is unknowns/ authors who just write for Amazon.

Depends if you want to read what you know/ what you can find in bookshops, or discover new things.

It really depends on genre. I like crime and thriller and I don't want to think. I want to escape. It doesn't matter they're implausible.

If you want literary fiction it definitely isn't worth it.

Buy a Kobo and borrow ebooks free from your local library instead.

Thanks all! I appreciate the suggestions. I will have a look through them all.

I agree with those that say it's mainly junk writers...once in a while I've found something good though so I go on living in hope!
I'm on a special offer at the moment but won't renew it.

There's definitely a place for this kind of book! This is what I feel like reading on my commute home...undemanding and hopefully engaging. But lately I've overdosed on them and really need to read something good again.
