I’ve spent two days absorbed in this book. I loved it, but despite its great reviews in the press, opinions on Good Reads and Amazon are divided.

I didn't like 'A Little Life' which got rave reviews. I couldn't identify with the characters - and the characters was all it was about - but confess to only reading a quarter of it.
I like a good story.

I didn’t finish A little life, so I’ll be avoiding this one. I found it too drawn out, the characters didn’t come to life for me and I couldn’t connect with it at all, the writing style wasn’t for me.

I loved ALL so I'm looking forward to reading To Paradise.
I like the premise of the different times.

I have it on my to read list OP, I loved A little life so am looking forward to this - I'm not actually that sure of the plot/story can you give a synopsis without giving too much away?? Have you read the people in the trees by the same author??

I've read this and A Little Life.

She's a very interesting writer, both books I couldn't put down, but I'm not sure I actually enjoyed either of them. Both very disturbing. I was furious at the ending of A Little Life.

I will read her next book too. Not sure why Grin

A Little Life put me off this author, reading it was a form of torture imo.

I had mixed feelings about A Little Life but I LOVED this.
It was massive, not just in length, but in scope and ambition. Not so much emotional manipulation as ALL but so much to think about in terms of race, politics, freedom, love, pandemics, etc.
Definitely my favourite read of this year so far. Really clever and so gripping.
