Sepulchre by Kate Mosse, and her other book, Labyrinth...gripping

McDreamy · 31/12/2007 18:59

Have you read any Harlen Coben? Very gripping stories, real thrillers. I think Tell No One was his first.

Anything by Phil Rickman for supernatural crime. You will love him.

cornishpasty · 01/01/2008 13:42

I really enjoyed Mo Hayder's 'Birdman' and 'The Treatment'. Really good horror/crime. Prepare to be shocked!!

pyjamagirl · 01/01/2008 13:53

pyjamagirl · 01/01/2008 15:32

I've done the Martina cole ones I don't want to put you off but faces is a bit rubbish

She just seems to have mashed it together !

I really like - 'Time traveller's wife' it was really different and thought provoking.

For scary have you read Graham Masterton's - 'Through the Mirror' terrifying!

Maeve Binchy is good for 'light reading'.

And of course - Ian Banks is good too.

pyjamagirl · 01/01/2008 15:38

I will definatley have to Give Mo Hayder a go now it's been recommended twice!

I couldn't do the Time travellers wife someone told me it's a love it or hate it book and I think I'm a hate it

I love Maeve Binchy though x

Nicci French?

tassisssss · 01/01/2008 15:43

the last 3 books i've read are:

the house at riverton

shopaholic and baby (utter trash)

the kite runner

PoinsettiaBouquets · 01/01/2008 16:10

I heard the House at Riverton was badly researched and full of historical innacuracies - enough to put me off reading it. What did you think?

PurlyQueen · 01/01/2008 16:12

Agent ZigZag by Ben Macintyre
The Night Watch by Sarah Waters

whispywhisp · 01/01/2008 16:16

I've just bought House at Riverton.....I really hope its good!

leifmum · 01/01/2008 16:26

i like all joanne harris books. gentleman and players was very good, twists and turns right to the end. enjoy your reading (fsmile)

tassisssss · 01/01/2008 19:23

i loved the house at riverton, but am now pondering what the historical inaccuracies could be...will go and read amazon reviews, why don't you start another thread?

yetihed · 01/01/2008 19:28

I have read House at Riverton and enjoyed, but my best book of 2007 was The Book Thief. Touching and dark, innovatively written- I HIGHLY recommend it!

yetihed · 01/01/2008 19:29

Also agree with SSSuit, and really enjoyed Time Travellers Wife. Great book!

Haylstones · 01/01/2008 19:30

I've just read the Thirteenth Tale and absolutely loved it. I can't remember who wrote it but I couldn't put it down- fantastic twists in it!
