Can anyone recommend a good book app?

I didn't get on with Good Reads and downloaded an app called iReadItNow which I've used for a few years. It's less annoying but still very clunky.

Can anyone recommend a simple app for logging which books you have read?

What’s the purpose of the App? I ask because I do the following, all for different reasons.

  1. Log in a notebook: I’ve written in every book since 2013 with a star rating and short thoughts.
  1. GoodReads: because I LOVE all the stats stuff. I.E. 25% through book, 45% of goal for the year and the end of year email with number of pages read, longest book, most popular book etc.
  1. Straight list on my phone for reference when I’m having a book chat or something.

Jack Edwards on BookTube has a video about leaving GoodReads for another App that I’ve forgotten that has all the stats stuff and more.

So I think it depends why you want the App. If it’s just to log books, a notebook will suffice.

Also, I use the GoodReads website because I’m not keen on the App.

Can I ask why you didn't get on with GoodReads? I think it is marvellous but I wouldn't want to be missing out on any book reading functions I hadn't thought of Grin

Not sure if they have an app, but I use LibraryThing.

Yes I think it's mainly a notebook I need! Except I can't refer to a notebook at any time unlike an app because, you know, mobiles and modern instant gratification. Plus I mislay things a lot

Perhaps I should try Good reads again

Storygraph is great. Free to use and I think it looks clearer than GR. It's really easy to use. If you have a GR account you can transfer the data over. It allows you to tag books, similar to GR shelves. Because I'm a bit of a geek I also love the graphs it draws for you based on genres and number of books you read. You can also sign up for loads of different reading challenges.

I use a really simple app called ‘reading list’. It’s free and easy to use.

Bookbub is good.

Not sure if there’s an app, but you key in your references and it sends you a daily email of recommendations.
