Just finished it and it really didn't grip me at all. A total non event of a book, it didn't feel like Stephen King even wrote it, to be honest. Anyone else?

Yes, I know what you mean. The references to the pandemic didn't need to be there, as they didn't add anything to the story. And compared to his last two books it did feel a bit off, I'm hoping its not the beginning of the end.

Yes, I thought that too. The whole plot just felt blah & beige. And without wanting to give out any spoilers, the girl happily offering him a hand job in the very same week she endured 'that'.......I mean, really? As if.

I just finished and I loved it. I had my heart in my mouth when he took the shot from the tower and I loved the evolution of him becoming a writer. Loved Alice and Bucky too. Agree the covid refs were unnecessary.

I loved it! Couldn’t put it down and am still thinking about the characters a few weeks later

@peaceanddove S.K hasn't really seemed to have any idea of what women are for quite some time. He did a fairly ok job with Rose Madder many moons back but his stories for the last 20 years have been predominantly awesome-male centric.

It doesn't seem like a masterpiece to me either. By the way, this often happens. But I have a theory. We start reading the author at a certain point. It seems like a perfect match of interests. Then we grow up and the author remains the same .. Or the author changes and we do not. And the new book is perceived as something alien .. I also had about Dean Koontz and Lois Bujold.
