Audible subscription changes

I've had a subscription with Auduble on & off for a few years & have just seen their changes to the membership/subscription - you now get access to a whole catalogue of audio books included, without needing to buy them with a credit. And a lot more of their books are standard £7.99 or 1 credit.

Any thoughts on these changes? I'm not sure I like it. There don't seem to be any more 2 for 1 deals or such.

In the past, you could clearly see the price of an audio book-so, it would say buy now for £18.99 or one credit.

I know this because I used to hate buying a book that was priced at £7.99 for everyone-I wanted to get my money's worth by buying a book that cost more than my credit of £7.99!

I might be wrong but I have been looking at books this afternoon and the only message is, 'buy with one credit'-the original price no longer appears.

I wonder if this is because they have lowered the price of the book to £7.99 for everyone, including non audible members or if there is a higher price for non audible members which no longer displays on my page,

I hope it's the latter because, if not, what is the advantage of being a member? I suppose it's all the free books that they've attached to this new Audible Plus scheme.

If you’re looking on the apple app it will only show credit purchases, you can pay cash on there as apple charges them a massive percentage.

I’m pleased with it, I’m loving all the Bill Bryson’s available

It’s annoying that books I’ve previously paid for with a credit are now ‘free’.

Maybe with this new pricing they’re hoping to encourage people to sign up to the annual memberships, where credits work out cheaper - last year I paid £110 for 24 credits which is £4.58 per credit so still cheaper than just buying a book for £7.99 when you want it. Haven’t looked yet to see if the annual prices have changed though!

Same here, @ChessieFL. Seeing quite a few books that are now in their free catalogue that I either used a credit for or bought in one of their sales. Feeling annoyed now. I'll hang on for another month because there's another audio book I want but, after that I'm taking a break.

It looks like the £7.99 price is a members only price as the website still shows a crossed-out regular price for each book. It would be nice if Audible sent out an email to members explaining the changes though.
