Recommendation for good audio books

Hi All,

I have a 5 hour flight coming up and unfortunately I can't read a physical book when flying or I get travel sick. I've never listened to an audio book before so I was hoping for some recommendations.

For reference I like fiction, especially fantasy but I'm pretty open minded. I like things on the lighter side. Not too serious. On my last holiday I read a load of the Sokie Stackhouse novels (Vampire based books, the ones True Blood was based on). Massive Harry Potter fan, I enjoyed the noughts and crosses series by malorie bkackman ( doesn't fit my criteria of light too well) and do enjoy good YA.

Any ideas?

Ben Aaronovitch Rivers of London series is lighthearted urban fantasy. A PC who starts training to become a wizard while working for the police.
The narrator on Audible Kobna Holbrook Smith is brilliant, I think his real job is stage actor.

Rivers of London is brilliant. I’m currently enjoying the Crystal Cave trilogy. The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell is awesome and there’s loads of books!

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Rivers of London sounds right up my street!

Also love series with loads of books.

I’m almost finished the 44 Scotland Street series. Lovely books -nice and easy! Really good for my daily commute and walking the dog.

I use the Libby app with my library card linked so it’s all free.

Thanks, I will check them out!

I mean they're notionally for kids but I really like the audiobook versions of the Skulduggery Pleasant books by Derek Landy. The first four are read by Rupert Degas, who is the man of a thousand voices.

As I say, kids' books really, but there's enough in them to catch adult interest. (Much like Potter in that regard.) And the performance is utterly fantastic.

I will have a look @BIoodyStupidJohnson. I'm not above a good kids book!
