I love Sophie Kinsella, but nearly all her characters seem to be early 20s. I like Jane Fallon, but all hers are mid 40s! I'm 32 so would ideally like to find someone who writes for the 30-38 age bracket!
For an idea of the sort of genre I enjoy:
I like 'real life' type stories, nothing too far fetched. No sci-fi or fantasy.
Humorous would be great, but not essential. I like a twist but they should end on a positive note, nothing that leaves loose ends untied.
Not too many characters! I hate when books give you 1500 different names and you never know if you're supposed to try and commit them to memory or not!
Preferably British.
Nothing with anything too sad - no deaths or anything please!!
I'm not specially interested in romance. I don't mind it being an aspect but it shouldn't be the main storyline. I'm not keen on overly descriptive sex scenes.
Oh, and it's the audio versions I'd be after, so specifically would love recommendations that do these (with a tolerable reader!)
Thanks!
