I've been feeling a bit rubbish lately, not even sure how to describe it, maybe a bit of depression/anxiety and low self esteem. I think an uplifting book I could listen to on audible would help my mood. Not necessarily a traditional self help book, but something inspiring and uplifting. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure if it exactly fits your criteria but.....my absolute favourite book for just getting lost in and feeling happy at the end is "Miss Pettigrew lives for a day" it's just joyous. It's not very long but it's is perfectly put together with lots of great characters.

‘Frank n Stans bucket list’ - doesn’t sound uplifting but I founded it really enjoyable, comical and joyous.

I really enjoyed The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. Uplifting story-also it’s magical realism so nice to be transported to somewhere else for a while! It’s not a long read either, but beautifully written.

If you like non fiction, I found Some Kids I Taught and What They Taught Me genuinely inspirational. I'm not a teacher btw.

A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. I recommend this book so often that my Google keyboard predicts it if I write the word gentleman Grin

They are a bit self-help-ish, but I love Gretchen Rubin's The Happiness Project, and also her follow up Happier at Home. They're light-hearted and personal rather than true self-help (recounting her own quest to be happier in life), and I enjoyed her reading of them on Audible.

The one caveat I would give - and she very much says this herself - is that she has a partner / children / a good job & they might not appeal if you have specific problems around any of those areas. (Having said that I read & enjoyed The Happiness Project after ex-H had decamped with OW & didn't find it an issue)

I have just finished Dinner With Edward by Isabel Vincent, a memoir about friendship. Hope that hits the nail on the head for you

Miss Pettigrew lives for a day is wonderful. Really a lovely story.
I also like a good Georgette Heyer, my favourites are The Grand Sophy and The Convenient Marriage
