Little Dorrit - should I give up?

I'm 500 pages in and there's still so much left to go! I'm finding it a bit of a slog. There's a lot of tedious detail and like many of Dickens female characters I just don't like her.

Does anyone love this book? Should I carry on? I have had about 4 accidental naps today trying to get through it.

I have never managed to finish a Dickens book except A Christmas Carol despite starting several others. My dad loves his work but I just can't get on with them.
I've read Tolstoy and Dostoevsky both of which I liked and my favourite book is The Count of Monte Cristo. I really want to like them but I just don't.

I reckon Dickens is much much more engaging in audiobook format. I often get quite bored reading it but I was properly engrossed and even laughed at some of the “funny” bits on audiobook.

Audible has several versions of Little Dorrit including one narrated by Anton Lesser. He's a great narrator so it might be worth trying.

Well if you're not enjoying it and it's a slog, yes!

I love Dickens but it's not for everyone. Read what you enjoy, you never know, you might feel like reading it some other time.
