Recommendations for an 11 year old fantasy/YA

My 11 year old DD is desperate for all some new books to lose herself in. She's read all the Rick Riordan books, Cressida Cowell books, Michelle Paver Wolf Brother series and recently read a few more YA books - The Hunger Games series, Noughts and Crosses (just the first one but she doesn't fancy the others). Any recommendations or series ideally to try?

Divergent series, Gone series

DonaldTrumpsChopper · 30/11/2020 21:20

Try the Edge Chronicles. DS2 enjoyed them a lot.

Curioushorse · 30/11/2020 21:21

The Loop (Ben Oliver)
Chaos Walking series (Patrick Ness- there’s a film out soon)
The Good Hawk (Joseph Elliott)
Jelly (Clare Rees)
Maze Runner or Divergent?

Tamora Pierce! I was obsessed with the Alanna quartet at that age, and my daughter loves them too.

Chrestomanci series
The Dark is Rising series.

Marking place as great suggestions here.
My 10 year old liked cogheart but may be a bit young for you

WellIWasInTheNeighbourhoo · 30/11/2020 21:46

Mine loved the Skulduggery Pleasant series

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 30/11/2020 21:50

The Chaos Walking trilogy beginning with The Knife of Never Letting Go.

Inkheart trilogy.

noblegiraffe · 30/11/2020 21:53

Diana Wynne Jones. The Dalemark Quartet are awesome.

hernameis · 30/11/2020 22:02

The Bolds by Julian Clary or Urgum the Axeman series by Kjartan Poskitt both quite amusing. Or Beverly Nicholls the stream that stood still (part of a trilogy) or has she read the Narnia series CS Lewis?

Chocolatecornetto · 30/11/2020 22:05

Helen Dennis - River of Ink series
Artemis Foul
Philip Pullman - Sally Lockhart series

NannyGythaOgg · 30/11/2020 22:11

Terry Pratchett, Tiffany Aching series. - could easily lead to the rest of the Discworld which are definitely enjoyable by teens

KindKylie · 30/11/2020 22:19

Cogheart trilogy
Brightstorm trilogy
Dream Snatcher trilogy plus Sky Song by the same author

GlamourSpider · 30/11/2020 22:21

The Mortal Instruments
Percy Jackson
Book of Ember

Thanks, some great suggestions here. She's read His Dark Materials so don't know if Sally Lockhart may be a bit young. I was thinking she could read the Belle Sauvage (bit scary/rape scene though) but the second in that series is definitely too old for her. She started Artemis Fowl but wasn't too keen, and likewise Narnia - much to my disappointment! She's read Brightstorm too but didn't know there were others so will check those out. Also Terry Pratchett is a good call, thanks Nanny (great name) and lots on here I don't know, so will have a look at those.

Fable haven series & the Dragonwatch series that follows both Brandon Mull

Enchanted forest chronicles (starts with dealing with dragons) & the amazing Frontier Magic series (starts with the thirteenth child) both Patricia Wrede

Jessica Day George - Dragonskinslippers series & the retold fairy tale ones like Princess of Glass

And I know they have been mentioned by PP but I have to add my vote for DWJ’s Chrestomanci series & SC’s Dark is Rising series.

Jcee · 30/11/2020 22:47

Mine is currently enjoying the 'Power of five' series by Anthony horowitz

cdtaylornats · 30/11/2020 23:14

Kathy Reich's series Virals

borageforager · 01/12/2020 07:02

Sally Lockhart is definitely not too young for an 11 year old! It’s not fantasy really though, but Victorian crime YA.

I like the series of books about Harry Potter. It is a big and so exciting fairytale

Dianne Wynne Jones for stand alone stories. The Belgarion series by David Eddings is fun and quite light.
