Popular science books for 10 year old

Can anyone recommend any popular science books suitable for a 10 year old?
She has asked for 'adult science books' after reading Neil de grasse tysons "Astrophysics for young people in a hurry" then the adult version.

She is not a voracious reader nor is she particularly a science genius, she's just interested and a bit snobby about 'kids books'.

We've already got most of the randall monroe books which she likes and I have adam Kay's new body book on the list.

She also refuses to read anything about 'women in science'

Suggestions gratefully received!

The 'George' series by Lucy and Stephen Hawking is great for that age of children interested in astrophysics, quantum physics, etc. Each volume is an engaging, fun story interspersed with lots of 'adult' scientific essays by prominent scientists and images of space, etc. The final volume focuses on a dystopian, post-climate-change world and has some very 'adult' references to politics, etc.

Aquila magazine published a great book

DD aged 11 likes it and she reads 'adult' science books.

The Horrible Science books are a bit dated in places ( Mum, what is a casette???) but still entertaining and accurate. The box of books makes a good Christmas present.

The Particle Physics Brick by Brick book is excellent, and not at all dumbed down because it's using Lego. My DS had that last Christmas when he was 10.

There's also an amazing series of books, the first of which is Elements, by Theodore Gray which are essentially coffee table books, but very accessible to a 10yo.

Dara o'briain's books are great for that age.

Has she seen the Brian Cox series about the solar system? There's a book that accompanies that Wonders Of The Solar System and The Universe.

We also have a great DK book called Science But Not As We Know It by Ben Gilliland.

Thanks so much for all the great suggestions!

No she hasn't seen brian cox as we are not in the uk but just seen I can get it on Amazon streaming so will definitely watch that with her!

Thinking of getting the brian cox one and the particle physics lego one as I quite fancy them for myself too, so if she doesn't like them I can read them :-).

It's available on DVD too if that helps, someone gave it to us as a gift (we don't have any television receiver).
