Manga for dyslexic 13yo

Would love some recommendations, DD1 bless her has tried reading novels so much but other than the first two Harry Potters, between her dyslexia and various processing issues she has just found it too hard.

She likes watching anime and is keen to try reading something at night (=less phone time!), so we will have a look in the teen section at the library when it opens but we aren’t sure what series to try other than the books of stuff she’s watched. Needs to be very easy to follow and preferably short series rather than scores of books in case we end up buying any!

Anime series she’s enjoyed:
Toradora
Special A
Maid Sama
Devil is a part timer
Think she’s starting to watch Blue Exorcist.

Any thoughts would be great :)

Check out Raina Telgemeier her books are in a comic style but for teenagers.
My DD is dyslexic and loved them. But she loves audio books, she listens to them before bed.

Also Lumberjanes by Stevenson and Ellis

Do you mean mango or any graphic novels for kids?

I hate to say it because it's a series but the Amulet books are fabulous. The Phoenix Comic Presents books are great. I've not read Smile but it's highly recommended.

My dyslexic DD loved Fruits Basket but like most Manga there are quite a few books. It really helped her confidence and reading come on. Very funny, sweet anime series too from 2006 but I think a new one was made last year that covers all the books this time.

My dd's also like Vampire Knight, Black Butler, Naruto around that age and Death Note (although it is very dark so maybe save until older)

The library often has complete sets of manga if you do interlibrary loans. If a series has been out for several years you can also sometimes pick up a second hand set fairly cheaply.
