My just 13 year old came across this book and asked me to get it for her. They talked about unhealthy relationships in school and she was intrigued but I do think the content of the book is not really age appropriate

Does anyone know a book for a younger audience covering this subject? Maybe from a teen point of view and without explicit scenes?

DD reads so different from what I read at her age, so I am a bit lost and without our decent Waterstone for help I don’t want to buy just anything.

I've seen the film of that, it's on Netflix.

The places I've cried in public by Holly Bourne. She used to be a relationships advisor on the young person's helpline The Mix. I've read her adult novels and they're excellent

I was going to recommend The Places I've Cried in Public. Both my Year 9 and Year 12 DDs have read it and rated it highly. Older DD said it resonated with what they'd been taught about unhealthy relationships in PHSE or whatever it is s called now.

Thanks I have a look.

Yes, DD browsed Netflix, found the movie and googled it. She will not see the movie either at the moment, it is a 15 and from what I read for good reasons.

Judy Blume's Forever? I haven't read it but heard it was good for teenagers.

I read Forever as a teen in the late Eighties and found it cringed as hell, I do understand the appeal behind the storyline but I think it is utterly dated by now.
