Needing some recommendations!

I really need some good recommendations! My tastes are quite mixed but if anyone on here loved any of the following books we might have similar tastes! These are some of my real favourites over the last ten years or so!

Hear, hear@Pootle40! I also loved American Wife. Curtis Sittenfeld has a new novel out , Rodham :What if Hilary hadn't married Bill It's £8.49 on Kindle from 19th May or in hardback in July. I'll be waiting for the price to come down or it to appear in the library.

I enjoyed The Dutch House as well. Also American Marriage.

I've just read The Rearranged Life of Oona Lockhart. Another time travelling story. It's a quick read but I really enjoyed it.

Will check that out now Moose. Any other time travelling recommends please? I love anything like that.

Did you read Matt Haig's 'How to stop time'? I loved that and it was a time travelling one.

I've read and enjoyed most of your list (especially Harry Quebert, which I loved) and two books I've read and really enjoyed recently are 'This must be the place' by Maggie O'Farrell and 'The unlikely pilgrimage of Harold Fry' (can't remember the author's name, sorry.)
I've not been able to concentrate on anything too heavy and both of these have been really engaging storylines without needing too much brain power.

these are mine. I was quite disappointed with Dear Mrs Bird and loved The Chain. I have just started Property of a Lady which was published in 1990 and belonged to my nan. All abour Russian dynasties and 1980's America. A modern read 30 years ago feels very dated now but think it will be a good read.

Can't recommend as I haven't read it yet!

Gentleman in Moscow has great reviews and is 99p on Kindle today

Thanks. Douglas Kennedy and Jane Harper are another of my favourites. I remember reading Douglas Kennedy's first book and absolutely loved it-think it was The Pursuit of Happiness. Must be 20 years ago now

Just looked him up-it was his 4th book but maybe his first big hit and it was 19 years ago I read it 😮
