Hello all,
We are going to start a more formal book club where we collectively choose books and set up discussion times/ invite authors to comment etc...

Is there anything in particular you'd like to see? Perhaps you're in a reading group already. If so, what do you like about it and what works well and not so well?

Let us know your thoughts.
Thanks
MNHQ

Hi book clubbers... I have a funny request... I am about to launch my new range of Personalised Educational books for babies and kids at the upcoming Baby Show in London Oct 19-21... As a Mum to 3 young girls and the sole employee of my new business I dont have a great deal of cash to throw around.. (read NONE!) but I really need some help at the show.. Would anyone be interested in helping out for a few hours a day in exchange for a Free ticket to come along to the show and a Gift Voucher for a Personalised book worth 50pounds????
Ideally, one person per day for 1-2 hours, so 3 Mums would be great, and choose from Fri, Sat or Sun...my website is www.mykidsbooks.co.uk email me [email protected] and I will call you to chat...

I keep meaning to read Rebecca (DeMaurier)

BigBeeristheBigBeer · 23/09/2007 21:37

I'd be interested. Didn't Mnetters try to set up a book club informally a few months ago?

Eliza2 · 24/09/2007 10:48

If you would like a complimentary review copy of my recently-published first novel (to see if it's something you might like) please contact me and I'd be delighted to send you one.

Lorayn · 24/09/2007 11:01

I'd love to join, plus read your novel eliza.
Casbie, I bought the trilogy of the faraway tree books for my daughter yesterday and we read the first 6 chapters, if only it wasnt for dinner , we wouldnt have put it down!!
Cant wait for story time tonight!!

Eliza2 · 24/09/2007 13:40

Just to clarify my last message--I have (four left) review copies for book groups. Sadly I can't send them to individuals. Sorry if it wasn't clear!

USAUKMum · 24/09/2007 14:07

BBBB -- yes some of did try to set up an informal book club membership list here

It worked well the first couple of books, once we got past the initial few books, it sort of ....well stopped. It had a brief rebirth, but only lasted one book (as far as I know).

But I'd be interested.

RubySlippers · 24/09/2007 14:10

would like to join in
ditto one book per month and paperbacks please

lionheart · 24/09/2007 14:13

Perhaps alternate between established classics and new stuff?

Tatties · 24/09/2007 14:16

I would be interested in this! Would love to join one in RL but can't quite get out in the evenings...

pyjamaqueen · 24/09/2007 14:17

Would like to join in, but I would prefer books to be inspirational rather than distressing.

Eliza2 · 28/09/2007 08:33

Forgot to add the link to my novel for any book club members who might like a free copy with a view to possibly choosing it as a book club read. (No obligation, no chasing up by me/the publisher). Just give me details of your book club and I'll send you a copy.
