..read Skin Privelege?

I don't want to give anything away to those clicking here who haven't read it yet, but I finished it a few days ago, and am still .

Anyone else know what I'm saying?

Fans of Karin's absolutely must read this book now!

I have loved Karin's Jeffrey & Sarah books. Yes, I read Skin Privilege over the summer and I have had that feeling too, but don't want to give too much away.
The book is now doing the rounds of my friends and every time it moves on I want to shout !

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/09/2007 17:00

Yes def read in order. You need to know some of the history from the others to fully understand parts of SP.

Just read the letter Budababe (was on hols when I read the book so couldn't access it right away). Very interesting. Will eagerly await 'Genesis'.

oh no need to get triptych then

rosmerta · 18/09/2007 11:00

Aaggghhh! This is so frustrating! Went to my library yesterday and they don't have Indelible so will have to get that one before I can read SP but it sounds so intriguing!

SBP, I don't think Triptych is one of the Sara Linton ones so you could skip it!

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2007 13:03

Ah thanks for letting me know I have to say I saw it in the supermarkets but didn't fancy it!

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2007 13:04

There's a tiny chance I might have Indelible upstairs, if I do, happy to send it to you.

saltire · 18/09/2007 13:12

I was in WH Smith today and saw the hardback of Skin Privelege. I was very good though and didn't read the last couple of pages.

I did however read the last page of the last Rebus book

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2007 13:33

didn't realise they were coming to an end!

rosmerta · 18/09/2007 13:35

I've not read Rebus before but did hear that they were finishing!

SBP - would you mind? That would be fantastic if I could borrow it from you!

saltire · 18/09/2007 13:37

They are allegedly coming to an end, I'm not sure if Rankin has actually said so himself, it's just been assumed.
I love the Rankin books, and knowing Edinburgh so well helps, as I can picture where they are. i don't think the TV series does justice to it, although ken Stott is very good as Rebus

tibsy · 18/09/2007 13:40

saltire you have more willpower than me!
they dont have it in my library either

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2007 13:42

rosmerta, please don't get your hopes up I think it's quite unlikely, but not beyond the realms of possibility!
Is anyone a member of readitswapit? I think it's fantastic!

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2007 13:43

saltire I love reading about places I know, or at least I prefer books set in the UK rather than America!

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2007 15:38

rosmerta, I'm sorry but I've had a look and can't see it.
The more I think about it the more i think I should have it somewhere tho...very odd. If it does turn up in the next few days I'll post on here. In the meantime, I'm bidding for SP.

rosmerta · 18/09/2007 16:26

no worries, thanks anyway

I might have a look on that site you put up, it looks great! Can you keep books if you like them or do you have to keep them on the swap list?

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2007 16:32

No you can delete them off the swap list so you can keep them. Also, when you ge them they're inactive- no one can request to swap until you make them active.
Have a look at my books
Am annoyed about that Indelible one, I'm sure it must be here somewhere!

saltire · 18/09/2007 16:34

stealth - I signed up to that site after someone linked to it on here. Do I need to wait until someone wants one of my books before I swap, and do I need to take one of their books, or can i take someone elses?

rosmerta · 18/09/2007 16:36

Sorry SBP, I think I'm been a bit slow here, when you swap books do you return them or keep them?

margosbeenplayingwithmynoonoo · 18/09/2007 16:36

I like her... I will look out for the book

Kewcumber · 18/09/2007 16:45

love Rebus but that no-one is impressed by me meeting Kathy Reichs

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2007 16:53

no, you can request to swap, just find the book you want and click the link
You can try it out on me if you like - you have the option to cancel a swap too. When you swap you keep the books, or as most people do, make them active when you've read them so they are available to swap onwards iyswim.

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2007 16:54

Kewcumber, I'm impressed

rosmerta · 18/09/2007 16:57

Me too [impressed emoticon]

rosmerta · 18/09/2007 16:58

thanks sbp, obviously brain not working correctly today! I've registered so will have to find some books I don't mind giving up! Btw, I checked and SP is in their library...

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2007 17:20

i know - i've asked to swap one but they've not got back to me yet!
