Has anyone read this? I finished it yesterday.

It's about 3 brothers, their wives and families.

It took me a while to get into it as there was a lot of characters at once. There is a family tree at the start which was useful as I did need to refer to that at the start! However, once I'd got used to the characters, it's a great book

Nothing will ever top Rachel's Holiday as her best book, but still up to her usual standards. Some of the characters are very unlikable (Liam, I'm talking about you) but others, e.g. Cara and Nell are likeable even though they have their flaws.

Hoping some of you remember this book! I just finished it and have got loads of questions. Do you think she will write another book featuring the Casey family? There were lots of loose ends - why did Ferdia fall out with Barty? What did Jessie decide to do about moving the business online? Surely Nell and Ferdia will get together again? Why did nothing else happen about Liam not seeing his kids?
There's got to be a sequel surely?

I thought it was very weak, I’m a fan of her earlier stuff but she has lost her mojo .

I totally agree, Carriemac. I loved her earlier books, but her last few have been terrible. Some very cringey sex scenes. Jessie in this book seems completely mad.

As I nearly bought this yesterday as it's in Asda's 2 for £8 deal, but bought Such a Fun Age and a thriller instead. I LOVED MK's early stuff but honestly The Break has put me off her it was terrible. So I couldn't bring myself to buy this but will put on my "to read" list

Such a fun age is a good read

I never finished the audible I just couldnt take to any of them and there were too many characters

BalloonSlayer · 02/03/2021 20:13

I really enjoyed it. I think she has "gone off" in recent years (have just put The Break in the charity bag, and I rarely throw books away). I am pleased at this return to form.
