Am I missing a trick here? Kindle Unlimited V Audible

I currently subscribe to Audible at £7.99/month which effectively gets me one book a month at below what I would pay without a subscription or for a paper copy.

Kindle Unlimited is free for the first month and then £7.99/month for unlimited audio books AND kindle books. This sounds like a far better option to me than audible (I prefer reading but like to have an audio book on the go for when out and about).

Am I missing something? Should I just switch to Kindle unlimited and cancel the audible subscription?

Try Amazon Prime

I have never seen much I am interested in on Kindle Unlimited. It seems to be all formulaic crime and thrillers (very popular genre I know, but not for me)
I love Audible though, very little is not available, new releases are available same time as the book is published, excellent customer service. I have the 109 pounds a year membership for 24 credits. I listen while driving and doing housework. Well worth it.

Audible do sales a couple of times a year where books are reduced. I got about 12 for £3 each in the summer so cancelled my membership for a few months. Just rejoined with an offer for half price membership for 3 months

I second Amazon Prime. I have it already, for free postage/TV shows, but I borrow a book from Kindle Lending Library free every month. I have been reading some classic detective fiction. If you add up the few pounds a month saved it's a good chunk recouped from the Prime subscription. There are also some Prime books to borrow, I think you can have 10 at a time.

No way would Prime satisfy my book addiction, but I do love a freebie!

In the good old days of a few years ago, you could opt for "slow" rather than next day delivery, getting £1 credit every time, which could be spent on video or ebook. I took advantage of this and bought loads of 99p ebooks when they were on offer. Sadly they don't give that benefit any more Hmm

Sorry, realise topic is Audible, just my two penn'orth!

Someone on here said that if you try to leave Audible it takes you to a £3.99 for 3 months offer. I normally join Audible over Christmas and the summer so I can download audio books for the kids on car journeys but I forgot to cancel!

Eh?? You can borrow books on Prime? I have Prime, why do I not know this. What else am I missing out on?

Sunshine select "My Prime" at top of the opening Amazon page. It pops up an advert for some TV show, then on this in tiny writing it says "see my other Prime benefits"..one click and you're in!
