I like The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year by Joanna Bolouri.

DreamingofSunshine · 03/11/2019 07:37

Karen Swan has a few good ones.

Fluffiest · 03/11/2019 07:43

I like The Perfect Present by Karen Swan

I like Winter Solstice by Rosamund Pilcher. Have re-read that for years, though might be a bit old fashioned now.

Sausagis · 03/11/2019 08:15

I like Twelve days of Christmas by Trisha Ashley and read it every year. Also perhaps a little old tho.

Palegreenstars · 03/11/2019 09:05

One day in December

I love a cosy Christmas book but I also come back to Winter Solstice by Rosamund Pilcher. Its so atmospheric it just sucks you in!

PegHughes · 03/11/2019 10:26

Another vote for Winter Solstice.

It's totally implausible but I love it and re-read it every December.

Miranda Dickinson - It Started With A Kiss is good.
Amanda Prowse has written a couple of Christmas ones too that I’ve enjoyed.

Snipples · 03/11/2019 12:49

Christmas Shopaholic is coming out soon I think

Papergirl1968 · 03/11/2019 12:49

Christmas for one and the Christmas Cafe are the Amanda Prowse ones.

Avihoot · 03/11/2019 12:53

I am not a chick lit person, but years ago I read Alexandra Potter's Me and Mr Darcy and was strangely warmed by it. I think, if memory serves me right, it is set in the New Year, and has nothing to do with Christmas as such, so maybe not what you are looking for?

RomaineCalm · 03/11/2019 13:05

There's a series of Comfort Food Cafe books that are easy reading - and a Christmas one is in there.

bookworm14 · 03/11/2019 17:36

Miracle on regent street by Ali Harris is lovely.

Sammysquiz · 06/11/2019 20:35

Reading Winter Solstice is like slipping on a comfortable pair of slippers!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 06/11/2019 20:38

Calling Mrs Christmas by Carol Matthews was a fun, easy read.

BaconAndAvocado · 06/11/2019 21:22

Just got The Christmas Party by Karen Swann.

It looks,suitably tacky yet cosy!

How about The Secret of Happy Ever After by Lucy Dillon?

5foot5 · 15/11/2019 16:09

@Sausagis I like Twelve days of Christmas by Trisha Ashley and read it every year. Also perhaps a little old tho.

Are you me!? This is probably my favourite Christmas book and I read it every year too. I have a little rule that I can't start it until November 17th. Actually I am a big fan of Trisha Ashley and have many of her books so after Twelve Days I will probably read some of the others.

Have you read her latest - Christmas Invitation? It came out on October 31st. I liked it a lot although I can see the similarities with some of her other novels. It is also set in Lancashire but although some of her characters from other novels are mentioned none of them actually appear.

Sausagis · 16/11/2019 18:38

@5foot5 I'm reading it now 😂 it is good. I didn't really like the christmas cracker book though. It seemed a bit lame. I've told my husband I am leaving and going to an English stately home in the home of being discovered as a distant relation and having a rich, handsome and previously misunderstood man fall deeply in love with me.

Have a look in the Works, they usually have lots to choose from.
