Absolutely loved this memoir by Maggie O'Farrell - so gripping. Anyone else read it and loved it? I think it'd be a good one for a book club.

I enjoyed it - very thought provoking. I have a relative who has had a number of brushes with death, but (like most ppl) wouldn't have that ability with words to put it down on paper.

I loved it too. Really gripping read.

I thought it was terrible. So self absorbed and bar maybe one or two, none of them were actually brushes with death

I thought it very moving. Having had a number of brushes with death myself, inc two serious car accidents and pregnancy complications and with births of my children.

I though some of the brushes with death were quite tenuous, but I did enjoy it. Made me reflect on things that have happened in my life when a slight shift in fate would have changed everything

I loved it too! I love her style of writing, she has such a knack for storytelling. And what an interesting life! I hope she writes more memoirs.

I didn't like it, didn't finish it, and I am a huge Maggie O'Farrell fan. Love the concept and the author, just not the execution (pardon the pun!)
