So what shall I do next?

I love The chronicles of st mays, Game if thrones, Thursday Next, Discovery of Witches, Rivers of London, Pullman and probs more.

I have an impending trip. 2 long flights and 2 weeks without internet or reliable electricity.

What shall I read?

My current favourite series is Deanna Raybourn’s Veronica Speedwell historical mysteries. Very funny and full of quirky characters.

If you like Rivers of London, I’d suggest Genevieve Cogman’s Invisible Library series or Vivian Shaw’s Greta Helsing books.

Ilona Andrew’s Kate Daniels series are fun and there are ten of them. Her Edge series is also good, gory fun.

Garth Nix’s Old Kingdom books are terrific - I think Sabriel is the first.

Alison Goodman’s Lady Helen and the Dark Days Club are enjoyable.

Less fantasy than your list, but see if the Shardlake series piques your interest. The writing is fab and there is 7 chunky books to get into.

(Also think the Nix pp recommended are good, written for a slightly younger audience, but it depends whether you mind that in the writing style)

Try The Wool Trilogy by Hugh Howey..once you've read the trilogy other authors have taken up other aspects of Wool world in novels/short stories

Raymond E. Feist's Riftwar series.
Magician, Silverthorn, and A Darkness at Sethanon are the first three. they are fab and there are lots Grin
