When, where, how much and how often do you read?

Over the last few years I've got out of the habit of reading everywhere and now I just tend to go to bed earlier and do my reading for an hour at the end of the day. I listen to audio books in the car and sometimes when I'm cooking or other pottering around-type jobs. I miss having a book to hand all the time, so I'm going to try having 2 books on the go at one time so I can carry one around to read at lunchtime, or in the evenings, and keep a separate one for bedtime. I usually read 2 or 3 books a month and 1 or 2 audio books.

I'm curious to know what other people's reading habits are?

I also read in the bath and while waiting in car parks outside various dc activities - I forgot those times. SInce I started this post I've read a bit more at various times. I think I need to have more books on the go at once & make sure there's always on in the car, one in my bag, etc.

I am always reading, all the time! I notice others around me who enjoy reading doing it less, which makes me want to do it even more! I probably read too much though, because it means I stay up too late and then feel tired in the morning.

Are you talking books for pleasure? I read policy papers, scripts for marking, tons of academic articles- so as a result- no books for pleasure. Happy to just zone out. One day I may pick up a book for actual pleasure!

In bed. I have been known to take the dcs to school and go back to bed on a rare day off so I can read.

I used to read daily but about four years ago (I now realise) my eyesight began to bother me and I cut back. Since getting reading glasses I have picked up the habit again so it's now about 40 minutes a day either at lunchtime or late evening. I prefer non-fiction. I like to get away from other people to recharge (introvert) and reading is the equivalent of having a little private bolthole to dive into.
