I’ve read the first four in a week, I’m hooked! Anyone else?

I’m just about to start The moon sister, so warn me if you have spoilers!! Grin

Who is Pa Salt? What are the connections?

What are people’s thoughts?

I've just finished the moon sister and came on here to see if anyone was talking about it and has any theories. I hope nobody minds me resurrecting this thread and place marking.

So.... I've read all five of the books so far. To the person who asked if you need to read them all in order I would say yes as otherwise you will find spoilers in the subsequent books. I believe they are written so that you can read in any order but I'd recommend reading in order for sure.

I think the seventh book will be pa salts story which will overlap with all the sisters stories and culminate in him finding the seventh sister. That's what I'm hoping anyway. In Maia's story i think he's the little boy in France who is saved by Maia's grandma and in Tiggy's story i think he is the man who buys Tiggy's mum an ice cream when she's a little girl and then has his fortune read. Anyone else recognise who he could be in any of the other stories?

Oh I'm so excited about Electra's story as she is a bit of an enigma. Sorry for this rambling post! Really recommend these books, it feels like I've travelled the world while reading them, pure escapism.

I think that Pa Salt is in all of the books. He was in his late 80s in 2007, and the little French boy in the first book was found in 1928 at 7-8 years old, he plays Morning Mood, he is intrigued by the stars, and Isabella gives him her Brazil address.

In the next book, Bo resembles a lot of Pa Salt's qualities, and again is an accomplished musician. We don't know much about him, but his girlfriend is a Parisian orphan. Towards the end, he starts working for a map maker, and again, shows a strong interest in boats, astronomy, and the Seven Sisters waterfall.

In the next book, Mr Tanit doesn't get much of an introduction, but he again has some Pa Salt-like qualities. Also, Tanit is an anagram for Titan - which is also the name of Pa Salt's boat, and Atlas, the greek god Pa Salt is named after (Pleiades ATLAS), was a Titan.

Not sure about the next book - James on the boat popped up about the right time, but he didn't have the same mysteriousness of Pa Salt's other appearances. There were no other likely candidates in my view though.

In the Moon Sister, he is the man who bought Tiggy's mother an ice-cream and had his fortune read by Angelina. He was a kind man, and the mysterious mention of his daughter linked it directly back to his letter to Tiggy at the start.

I have gone into more detail in a post on Reddit as well if anyone is interested. It would be great to get a whole lot of different people's thoughts together to discuss what are clearly some other big hidden secrets in the books!

Anyone reading "The Sun Sister", which came out yesterday?

ikeakia · 13/11/2019 14:43

Just finished it!

Thoughts anyone?

pipnchops · 06/01/2020 20:06

I've read and enjoyed the sun sister and loved it. I really wasn't sure if I'd like Elektra but I really did. My theory on who Pa Salt is in that story is the man who rescues Cecily at the protest, anyone else agree? Can't wait for the last book and still wondering if Pa Salt hasn't really died but that would be really cruel of him for putting his daughters through that and I hope he has a very good reason!

Hi, I’m the OP, I wondered if anyone else was eagerly awaiting the next instalment next month?

Standrewsschool · 15/04/2021 21:16

Just read The Moon Sister. It was good, but I don’t think was quite as good as the others. I liked the past bit, it was the section in Scotland I felt was weaker. However, I then discovered that the author had been in hospital was writing the book, so maybe that affected it.

I impressed with those who spotted clues. I’ve read them a month apart so maybe missed some clues.

MinnieKat · 15/04/2021 21:40

I’m incredibly sad and have been counting down to release date as I’m just so desperate for some answers to how everything ties up. There are so many unanswered questions and I have a feeling that although the answers look obvious the author has some big surprises planned in the end.

I think the way the series has been written is really good, to have each book stand alone yet have this running storyline through each of them and loose ends everywhere. It’s reminds me a bit of the TV programme ‘Lost’ in that respect, but hopefully with a better ending!

It’s interesting that you found ‘The Moon Sister’ weaker, I really enjoyed that one.

Me! I just preordered it today and can't wait. I'm sure pa salt must be alive.
MinnieKat · 25/04/2021 20:21

You know, I’m not sure. There’s definitely a mystery there but it would be so obvious and a bit of a let down if he was, I’m hoping for a real ‘oh my god’ revelation that ties up the loose ends.

I’d love to know what led him to each sister and who he really was. Plus to find out what significance Zed and his dad have.

Standrewsschool · 25/04/2021 20:43

Just started reading about Electra which I’m really enjoying so far.

bookworm14 · 28/04/2021 13:23

I’m so excited for the final book! I love the way you can track the hidden story of Pa Salt throughout the books and can’t wait to see how she ties it all up. Just hope it’s not a massive letdown!

MinnieKat · 28/04/2021 16:59

I’m really dreading it being a let down too. I’m so hoping for something amazing to happen which drops everything from each story into place with a ‘click’.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each book and learning the history of each sister as well as following their own story. I can’t remember when I was last so excited for a book.

I also really like the Greek myth theme throughout and how each sister represents one of the Pleiades.
