Recently read and liked, The Tenderness of Wolves, The Dante Club, The Kite Runner.

I really need a good summer read (I don't get alot of time right now and it can be months between books.) TV is rubbish and I miss reading! Any suggestions?

The dante club was good as a yarn and the writer is clearly knowledgeable about 19th century boston and about dante's writing. It is a bit slow paced (especially the beginning) because it is a bit heavy on the narrative for my liking - still it was a compelling mystery (if a bit gruesome in parts) to read once the initial plodding pace picked up a bit.

Just read ' Interpretation of Murder' by JEd Rubenfield - enjoyed it.
Now re reading tlaes of the city by Armistead Maupin in anticipation of his latest offering.

Sovereign by CJ Sansom - it's the third in a series, but I read the series in reverse and it didn't matter! A whodunnit set in Tudor England - political and dramatic and highly readable. It's a great romp and a good story backed up with thorough research (Sansom is a historian, I believe). The other two are Dissolution and Dark Fire - Dark Fire was particularly superb.

The Poisonwood Bible - an absolute corker of a read. Or what about Kate Atkinson? Human Croquet is fab. Or Music and Silence by Rose Tremain. All recently re-read by me and loved.
