Hi all! Going away soon and I need a good book. I'm looking for a thriller, a murder mystery or something along those lines. Something I can really get my teeth into!

Anyone have a recommendation please?

The Dry by Jane Harper is good. And kind of appropriate considering present weather Smile. Just bought the sequel today. Hoping it's as good.

You need

The last Mrs Parrish

And

Faceless

Both absolutely unputdownable and I read them both in 2 days

Only one? This year, so far, I have liked The Dry as recommended above, Testimony by Scott Turow, Two Kinds of Truth by Michael Connelly, and those are just the recent reads, which is to say that I've read them in the last month. I also enjoyed a couple from the library. And Eligible, by Curtis Sittenfeld ( or thereabout) which is a modern day version of Pride & Prejudice.

The Last Mrs Parish was the worst thing I read all year. Sorry but it was truely awful, couldn't just sit on my hands.

I recently went on holiday to Florida. Had a book called Behind Her Eyes, written by Sarah Pinborough. I thought being on a 9 hour flight I might get a little bit of reading done in between watching a movie etc. Well, in between sorting my 10 year old daughter out & eating some food, I read the entire book on the flight there. I didn't watch any TV at all, I was so engrossed in the book. It was a fantastic read, I can't remember the last time I read a book so quickly.

The ending was a little weird, but it was a brilliant book and I highly recommend reading it.
