There’s no one quite like her is there? I’ve just finished reading ‘Wise Children’ and I loved every single minute of it. It’s so good - managing that tricky tightrope of genius level clever and grippingly entertaining.
I’ve got a couple of hers left yet that I haven’t read, but I need to save them up.
Can anyone help me out with authors similar to her that I might not have read?

I love her too and I’ve been reading a lot of Margaret Atwood lately. I’d love more suggestions too though.

Thanks spark, I’ve read all of the Atwoods already!
I recently read ‘The Blazing World’ by Siri Hustvedt. It’s absolutely brilliant. She’s an American author.
I thought it would be my book of the year before I read ‘Wise Children’.

Have you read anything by Michael Moorcock? Mother London is really good.

Not sure I have any good suggestions but just popping in to say that I love Wise Children. One of my all time favourite books.

Try Rosie Garland?

Jeanette Winterson? I love 'Written on the Body' and 'Lighthousekeeping' particularly.

What about trying some Alice Hoffman? I liked The Ice Queen and Blackbird House.

Another one who adores wise children and the Bloody Chamber.
