Going on holiday soon with DC so maybe a bit ambitious but would like to take a book just incase.
Perhaps something uplifting, inspiring and a fairly easy read. Any recommendations?

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine was a lovely book and I read it in two days - could be a good one?

Friend Request by Laura Marshall.

I’ve just finished it, really modern and current, plus lots to keep you guessing til the end. Highly recommend

Another vote for Eleanor Oliphant!

Eleanor Oliphant is an easy read.

I’ve just finished The Underground RailRoad which is amazing. Also, Burial Rites (Hannah Kent). Fantastic stories that make you think.

Eleanor Oliphant and Keeper of Lost Things are nice easy reads. (Not saying they’re simple, just that the plots aren’t complicated to follow, which I like to read on hols!)

I've just finished THE HEARTS INVISIBLE FURIES by John Boyne (who wrote Boy In The Striped Pyjamas). It's a long book, but by God it is fantastic. About a boy born in Dublin in 1945 to a 16 year old unmarried girl. She gets kicked out of home and village. He gets given to a Redemptorist nun who finds a family to adopt him. And the whole book is then his life. It is the history of being a gay man in Dublin and it is simply one of the best books I have ever read and I have both laughed and sobbed out loud. I finished it today and feel bereft. Please read it. You will come back and thank me Grin

Thanks everyone! I bought Eleanor Oliphant and Hearts Invisible Furies. Let's hope I get a chance to read them Grin

"The Heart's Invisible Furies" Outstanding far better than Eleanor Oliphant which I'd rate as fairly good, if not a little over hyped.
