Hello all! I read quite a lot. I'm open to anything and everything.

Have become much busier in recent weeks and this is likely to go on for some months.

I'd really appreciate recommendations for page-turners without too much extraneous detail (this makes a book harder to get into, for me) so I can continue to read.

All help very much appreciated!

I'm not sure these count as fast paced, but have you ever read the Tales of the City series by Armistead Maupin? They were originally published as a daily serial in a San Francisco newspaper starting in the 70s, so they are very short chapters and very easy but compelling reading - quite soap-like in many respects. I read them first as a student and re-read and enjoyed them all over again in the last few years.

I bought Lullaby by Leila Slimani yesterday and I've almost finished. Stayed up far too late last night as couldn't put it down.

Thanks all - just had a kindle shopping spree - I prefer to hold a real book but our house is already full of them.

Looking forward to all of them.
