Any recommendations for good non fiction books?

Preferably on kindle so I can read them when getting DC to sleep.

Feel like I haven't read a good book for ages and can't be bothered with fiction. I want to read facts/autobiography/travelogue type of thing.

The Road to Nab End by William Woodruff is the autobiographical story of a harsh, but not wretched, childhood in the 20s and 30s. It isn't misery lit.

I'm reading the Invention of Nature by Andrea Wulf.

It's a biography of Humboldt--really interesting read.

Placemarking to read these recommendations later as love non-fiction.

On the travel/place tip I love Patrick Leigh Fermor's A time of gifts & its sequel. Or Ring of Bright Water by Gavin Maxwell

On the autobiography tip, I recently read Chris Packham (the Really Wild Show)'s autobiography and it was rather beautiful - not at all what I was expecting. i would never have read it if it wasn't for a recommendation to do so

On the 'facts' tip, you might like Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari & Eric Klinenberg. A bit of fluff sociology but with Ansari's comic sparkle.
