So who’s up for having a book club on here? All choose one book, read it in a month (for the busy ones 😂) and then come back with a 🍷 and some 🍫 and discuss our thoughts? Like a digital book club? X

Great idea to have 2 books and ability to opt out of having to read both in any given month.

DaisyRaine90 · 12/11/2017 10:38

🙌🏼

So any suggestions for either book? X

Hello can I join please? Been looking for a book club locally but can't find one.

DaisyRaine90 · 12/11/2017 11:03

Of course 😀

Ooh I quite fancy this, although I think I'd read just one of the choices (prob fiction) a month as I'm not the fastest and I wouldn't want the only book I read to be one I had too.

I quite fancy the Cathy Kelly one but happy to read whatever!

Great idea!

DaisyRaine90 · 12/11/2017 11:40

I second Cathy Kelly if it’s thirded then it’s the book

any other suggestions?

Also for non fiction? Are we talking psychology type stuff possibly? Would love to read the chimp paradox by prof Steve peters x

DaisyRaine90 · 12/11/2017 12:20

Cherrypi · 12/11/2017 12:59

Ooh £3.99 on kindle or they have a large print one in the library. Yay. When do we have to read it by?

DaisyRaine90 · 12/11/2017 13:00

Will be first Thursday or the month but got a bit of extra time this time round 😊 x

OP posts:
VioletCharlotte · 12/11/2017 13:05

Ok great Smile

DaisyRaine90 · 12/11/2017 13:19

I will order it now x

Hi, I'm interested in joining, please. I'm unlikely to read a non-fiction, but will have a go at the fiction. Cathy Kelly is not an author I've read before, so I'm happy to discover someone new.
So, we read it now, but don't start discussing until 7th December, is that right? I guess we don't want spoilers.
We will, of course, also need virtual WineGrin

DaisyRaine90 · 12/11/2017 15:29

Yes the 7th
Virtual if you like but I will drink the real deal if the kids are in bed

This is going to be good for me I keep starting books and not finishing them 😂

Oh and buying books and not reading them 🙄

Xx

MorningstarMoon · 12/11/2017 15:37

Has anyone read a Cathy Kelly book before?

DaisyRaine90 · 12/11/2017 15:42

No!! X

OP posts:
DaisyRaine90 · 12/11/2017 15:43

I imagine it will be a bit Marian Keyes like x

OP posts:
VioletCharlotte · 12/11/2017 15:49

I think I have but not for a long time. I've been reading los of psychological thrillers and detective books recently so this will make a change. I like Marian Keyes so if similar style it should be good.

MorningstarMoon · 12/11/2017 16:02

Just ordered it Grin I can't wait to read it.

DaisyRaine90 · 12/11/2017 17:25

Excited 😀

Cherrypi · 13/11/2017 14:18

Got the large print version from the library. The paper is very thin. Hopefully it’s good if it’s worth making a large print version.

UrsulaMumsnet · 13/11/2017 14:56

Hi folks - we love that you're keen for an online Book Club. We're planning next year's Mumsnet Book Club now and we'd love to see you all there. Would be great to hear your thoughts on what books or authors you'd like to be part of it and we'll see what we can do!

DaisyRaine90 · 13/11/2017 17:20

It arrived today 😊

Glad to see the idea is catching on 😀

Can I suggest either 'Neurotribes' or First do no Harm as nonfiction?

The former is about our psychological differences and the latter is written by an eminent neurosurgeon and is supposed to be fascinating?

i;m 'in' btw... Grin
