Thanks very much for the copy of this slightly creepy, and mesmerising book.
I just couldn't put it down - it's simply ages since I've read a book I found so gripping. I read it in a day and night, I just couldn't leave it.
It starts slowly and quite methodically, and then before I knew it, it had sucked me in, very very skilfully I thought.
I didn't want to finish it, but at the same time I couldn't wait to find out what really happened.
I won't give lots of details about the plot/mystery even though I was sure I knew who the culprit was, but then I kept changing my mind - it really was a page-turner for me.
I didn't really respect, admire or even warm to any of the characters - I thought they were all a bit unpleasant, some were downright hideous, most were nasty and all seemed somewhat flawed apart from Drew.
But they were all driven by their own relentless personal or vicarious ambitions, and the author was brilliant at writing about this sort of perversely driven and focused behaviour- all quite believable in the context of the plot/gymnastics.
And the fact that I really didn't like the characters didn't matter at all, or spoil my enjoyment of the book in the slightest, as they were all (almost) credible in a "this is a thriller, you must suspend belief" kind of way.
The only thing I would query is the title itself - "You will know me" - just couldn't work out who was supposed to know who - does it relate to a book character or is it directed at the reader? And who is it about?
Otherwise, an absorbing, twisty, pacy and darkly compelling book. Fabulous.
