I've never read any Terry Pratchett

I thought I might take a couple of his books on holiday with me but there are so many of them I don't know where to begin!

Any recommendations?

Witches and Watch. Rincewind is not as good. I always thought I was alone in not liking those books as much. Captain Carrot and Granny Weatherwax are my favourites. I also like Moist von Lipwig very much.

Guards guards and equal rites are both excellent

You don't have to read all the themes in order and I think there is value in mixing and matching. I think Guards Guards! is the most accessible introduction but I think I probably love the witches strand best.
