Reading challenge - suggestions needed!

So, I've set myself up a sort of challenge of different types of books to read. I tend to get stuck on similar books and wanted to branch out a bit.

My plan is to keep a little reading journal type thing, detailing what I liked/disliked etc etc. I'm aware this is very much like setting myself unnecessary school homework but I'm enjoying it so far! Grin

The boxes I still need to tick are:
A classic romance
A book that became a film
A book with a number in the title
A book written by someone under 30
A book with non-human characters (I've already read Animal Farm before)
A funny book
A book with a one word title
A book of short stories
A Pulitzer Prize winner
A trilogy

If anyone has any suggestions for really good books that fall under these categories I'd be v v grateful!

Oh yes purple, the mobile library parked in the courtyard, that's a fab book.
I like all your selection, especially Angel and 84 Charing Cross Road. Years ago there was a lovely film of 84 CCR, IIRC I wept buckets at the end. Smile
