I like a book to match a holiday. I'm off todorset with notsoD H to do something to do with trains. At least he's going to look at trains and I intend to moon around living in a novel. Sunning myself on the beach and imbibing in a little gin or cocktail.

Ideas please.

OP, your other thread has cheered me up after a long week.
Hopefully you & your DH will find plenty to do in Dorset and your kindle will barely get used.

Emily Barr, The Sleeper...ok, very loosely fits the criteria but it is a great read. Enjoy your time away

Part of 'The Hand That First Held Mine'is set in Dorset, I think it's Lyme. That book makes me sob so much at the end, but it is beautiful.

I'm from Dorset and love it. 'Novel in a Viola' by Natasha Solomons stood out to me.
But where in Dorset are you going as this makes a difference...?

The Woman from the Blue Lias by DM Mitchell is set in Lyme Regis. I was expecting much from it but I really enjoyed it.

That should say "wasn't expecting much"
