We gave away 30 copies of City of Friends, the latest offering from bestselling author Joanna Trollope. Find out more about the book and the author now.

The day Stacey Grant loses her job feels like the last day of her life. For who was she if not a City high-flyer, Senior Partner at one of the top private equity firms in London?

As Stacey starts to reconcile her old life with the new – one without the office buzz or meetings, but instead, long days at home with her dog and ailing mother – she's glad to have 'the girls', her best friends from university, to fall back on. But without the distraction of work, a betrayal emerges that threatens to shake the four women's friendship to its core.

We ask all winners to share their thoughts about the book on this discussion thread. Everyone who gives detailed feedback on City of Friends by midday Wednesday 12 April will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Love2shop voucher:

Thanks sooooo much for the BookSmile. I cannot put it down and wanted to know what was going to happen next as soon as i finished each chapter .!!! It's definitely an addictive book which immerses you as soon as you start reading it.
The character's are very real and I feel like i know them personally.
My only problem is that my 4 year old won't let me finish it in peace so i have to steal a quiet 10 minutes here and there. Can't wait for the end.
I think this would make a great short TV drama.

Sorry late review , looking forward to reading many more of Joanne's books.

Thank you musket for my free copy. Sorry for the late review.

This is my first Joanna Trollope book. The beginning was very interesting and was a page turner but then it didn't allow the reader to get to know the characters well enough as it was moving from one to another. Some of the detail was long and boring so towards the middle it became rather boring.
The characters and issues were real so there were times one could relate to a character or issue. Unfortunately, things seemed to be rushed and not dealt with adequate attention. In my opinion the ending seemed rather abrupt. A book with potential but not realised that potential is how I would describe it.
