Anyone read anything recently that would appeal to a 16 year old boy?

As a clue to his interests, he's enjoyed in recent years:

Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy
Noughts and Crosses
The Tunnels series
Maze Runner

he's not enjoyed:
Percy Jackson
Non-modern fiction

I'm just a bit stumped and I need to add something to my Amazon order to get free delivery :)

Thanks squirrills, plenty of gaming going on here too! But they both do read. It's DS2 (15) that has a particularly narrow interest. He is into the Byzantine empire so is focussed on that in terms of reading material. A lot of that consists of dry studious tomes which are a bit less accessible to a teenage lad, albeit a clever one. He is partial to a historical biography though as long as it fits into the correct time period. :) His computer gaming follows the same theme.

A good age to start on some classic Stephen King.
