So what are you reading, to start the new month? I'm reading 'Notes On A Scandal' by Zoe Heller. I found it hard to get into but am doing a bit better now. It won't be on my list of all time faves unless something amazing happens, though!

The Artemis Fowl books!
Lads in my class keep recommending me books and then discuss them so I may as well join in!(Quite enjoying them too!)

Just finished "Mother's Milk" by Edward St Aubyn. The fact that it was shortlisted for the Booker Prize 2006 does not stop it being complete tripe. Worst thing I've read in ages.
Just started "The Echo Maker" by Richard Powers. Not too sure what to make of it yet...... Has anyone else read it?

I'm reading Anne Perry Slaves of Obsession, I love her books. I'm convinced that they portray the dark reality of Victorian life (with very little learning or knowledge to support this belief!)
nellieellie, I also love Elizabeth Peters, they make me smile, the child is very amusing.
I've got Manda Scottt's latest Boudicca novel, it was a Christmas prezzie but I'm waiting for a free weekend to immmerse myself as they are so gut-wrenching. Has any-one else read them?

And Laurel K Hamilton in the world of faery with lots of rampant sex, Buffy by Nora Roberts!!

I finished The Birth of Venus. It's a bit of a pot-boiler, I was disappointed, tbh.

I'm now reading Melvyn Bragg's The Adventure of English, a Biography of a Language. It is most excellent!

I just finished Jane Fairfax- Joan Aiken- a sequel to Emma.
Very interesting to see Emma from a different point of view.
I need something funny with long descriptions of weather and landscape and no unhappy children.

I'm reading Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts....950-odd pages! Am about 2/3 of the way through and really enjoying it.

I have a huge pile of Things To Read by my bed, but can't remember what any of them are at the moment.
