Kids feeling inspired by the Olympics? Get them reading too - with the latest Flying Fergus story from cycling champion Chris Hoy.

It's time for Fergus and his Hercules' Hopefuls teammates to go to the District Championships, where they're determined to beat their rivals, Wallace's Winners. The problem is, the team's second-hand junk-shop bikes are proving no match for their rivals' flashy new Sullivan Swifts.

We've got 50 copies of Flying Fergus: The Championship Cheats to give away - apply now to find out what happens in this hilarious adventure! This story is perfect for ages 5 - 7.

We ask all winners to share their thoughts (and their children's thoughts) about the book on this discussion thread. However, you don't have to win a free copy to take part in the discussion - anyone who has read Flying Fergus: The Championship Cheats can post their feedback here (and you can buy the book now).

Everyone who posts on this thread before 17 October will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Love2shop voucher.

I received this copy and passed it on to my friend's son.
I heard he really enjoyed the story and his mum is really happy that they have a new character to relate to now.
Thank you so much for giving me the book! I love seeing his face every time he receives a present!

Thank you for the book.

My children, 8 and 10 years old, were thrilled to get the book and read something new.

They said it was 'ok, but not great'. Both felt that the cover and print were 'babyish' but, imho, the content wasn't. It seemed a bit confused as to its target market?

Thank you for my copy, Mumsnet. I agree with other readers that this book is more suitable for 8-10 year olds. Having said that, I read it with 7 year olds who enjoyed the illustrations and were able to follow the story without any problems. Again, touching on other readers' comments, I found the 1970's throwback reference to the mum's "fancy man" rather odd. Other than that, it's a perfectly readable book although possibly not one of those books that gets returned to again and again.

I'd agree with other reviewers that the age range of this book could be pitched a bit higher - I also had to explain 'fancy man' to my son! He enjoyed the book however and the theme of honesty was a good one. I'm not sure whether we'd rush out to buy the others in the series but thank you for this one!

My 6 yr old daughter loved trying to read this by herself. She liked the pictures at the front of the characters. I do believe it should be aimed at slightly older age group 8+ saying that it's a good book and would definitely Recommend.
