Wow what a devastatingly bleak story - spent ages thinking about how I would cope etc etc I used to love this kind of thing as a young teenager and I was trying to remember the books I read. There was the Changes Trilogy and Z for Zachariah. I was wondering if anyone could remember anymore?

Oh I must get that! The Morningstar Series is excellent and the Autumn series by David Moody
Zombie Britannica is also worth a read.

Also Day by day Armageddon by JL Bourne and the sequel Beyond Exile.

Morningstar Series is Z A Recht....

All zombies though so it depends if that's your thing Grin

Robert r mccammon's "swan song".

Makes the stand look like something printed on the side of my little pony.

Sheri Tepper is an amazing feminist fantasy writer.
Marge Piercy's Woman on the Edge of Time is a wonderful book. I love post apocalyptic fiction.

I've just finished Outpost by Adam Barker - wasn't sure at the outset but would thoroughly recommend if you like post-apocalyptic stuff.

The Hunger Games - I recommend this every time there's a post-apolcalyptic fiction thread.

babycham42 · 15/10/2011 18:55

Mcnorton I've also just finished that! Would also recommend!

Currently on "Z for Zachariah" and although its classed as a young adult book,I'm really enjoying it.

I think it was on another thread but not mentioned on this one."The Death of Grass" by John Christopher is excellent (and no zombies!)

There is a release date for The Twelve, think it's June 2012.
