Zombie/Post-Apocalyptic book lovers - have you read Rot and Ruin?

Picked this up from a charity shop, I think it's the first in a series. Reviews on Amazon seem to be mostly 4 or 5 stars but I don't want to read them in case of any irritating spoilers!
Anyone read this?

No haven't read it, but just came on here to ask for recommendations for zombie/apocalypse books and saw your post - off to check it out now!

If you find it, let me know what you think. I'm not bowled over - it's not exactly taxing reading or original ideas, IMO. I'll give it 50 more pages....

I read all 4 recently, quite enjoyed them at the time but fairly forgettable afterwards, if you know what I mean. If you got it for cheap I'd keep going! I think the first one gets better when they get out into the Rot and Ruin. DS read them too, he's 14, think they were his first actual zombie books, he liked them.

My favourite book is world was z by max Brooks. It is nothing like the film apart from that they have zombies in it. I have got 4 other people to read this book and have all done it in one sitting (it's not a huge book)
It's basically a guy collecting survivor stories from around the world. It examines all stories before, during and after and is very realistic on how the virus could go world wide. Soldiers, civilians, children, doctors - it tells the story from all perspectives. I cannot praise this book enough

I love WWZ too - is there anything else that's even half as good out there? Rot and Ruin doesn't seem to be it, anyway (sorry, OP).

Actually, the resident evil books are pretty good

I liked the series by Mark Tufo. I can't remember what the first one is called, but I've read as far as the 6th in the series.
