Morning!
I want to give a nod to Terry Pratchett when I re-name my new home (house currently has an awful name - think Daret - named after the owners, Darren and Janet.)
Is there a way of doing that without giving my house a ridiculous name?
So no to: Dunwitchin; Rincewind's Retreat; the Unseen University; Carrot's cottage; Detritus' Den etc Grin

Any thoughts?

Zog Grin

They're years old those maps. I've got Nanny Oggs Cookbook somewhere too. And the Discworld Companions. And the Art of the Discworld. And Where's My Cow. And probably others.

Funnily enough I've just started rereading them. Have gone through the witches and am now on the night watch. I gave Maurice and his Amazing Educated Rodents to my 9 yo dd1 and am happy to report that she loved it. Bought her Only You Can Save Mankind and now she's on The Wee Free Men. She's catching me up.

Got to the end of Carpe Jugulum and it hit me that I'd never read about the witches again. Their story pretty much ended there. Granny Weatherwax popped up with Tiffany Aching but I really want to read about Nanny Ogg again, I luffs her.

I can't even bear to buy The Shepherds Crown. To think that once I've read it I'll never sit down with a new Discworld ever again.

I keep rereading the older ones and pretending TSC doesn't exist because if I do that then it'll never be over.

Just told DH I want to rename our house Pseudopolis Yard but I keep getting tongue tied trying to say it!

This thread has made me snort so much I may have woken DH who is upstairs in bed :)
I also want to name our house now - think Crivens! would work well :o

PerspicaciaTick - you have to come back here and tell us about the memorial service not jealous AT ALL--

Wossname

I read TSC about a month ago. I'd had it for months prior to that but couldn't bring myself to open it. You'll get no spoilers from me but it contains some unexpected events. Onion fairy visited a lot here too.

On the train home after the memorial service. It was lovely and I cried quite a lot. Lots of friends and family remembering STP. Neil Gaiman and Tony Robinson read. A huge choir sang some Tallis. Steeleye Span sang lots (including the Dark Morris). And Eric Idle initiated a round of "Always loom on the bright side of life" at the end.
A very special and memorable evening.
