As part of our ongoing campaign with Penguin Life to bring you books to inspire healthy living, this month we bring you Stuffocation, James Wallman's guide for how to avoid 'stuffocation' and learn to live life to its fullest with fewer possessions.

Penguin Life have asked us to find 50 Mumsnetters to read Stuffocation and tell us what they think about it on this discussion thread. Go to the giveaway page to read James Wallman's tips for living a clutter-free life, find out more about the book, and apply for a free copy.

Don't worry if you haven't finished reading. Feel free to drop in at whatever point you've got up to and give your fellow readers your first impressions about the story, characters, writing style etc.

Look out for the Q&A we'll be running with James Wallman in late March when you'll be able to ask James all your questions about spring cleaning.

i was lucky enough to win a copy of this book, and I found the first couple of chapters a little boring and heavy going, but I perservered, and was glad that I did, as there are some very good ideas and tips on how to de -clutter, and it makes you think just how easy it is to collect and hoard things, and then how easy it is to actually get rid of all the clutter. I would certainly recommend this book

Ah, this is more like it! Been a bit disappointed with some of my reads recently but this is very thought-provoking. I like the fact that it is a book one can dip into, rather than reading all in one go: it gives one time to mull over the points made in each chapter/section. The notes part at the end is a little confusing. Fortunately I looked through the book prior to reading as there don't seem to be footnotes in the text to alert the reader to the fact there is a further elaboration in the notes section. I am constantly trying to declutter and organise my life but my OH is a hoarder. Clearly I need to leave this book in a prominent place and hope that he takes the hint!

Thank you to mumsnet for the copy of this book. I really like the clever title but in the first few chapters the word suffocation is used in every other sentence. The concept is really simple and can probably be summed up in a few chapters. I was surprised that there was not more on how societies/communities/households work in poor/developing countries where they have too little rather than too much. Overall it was great timing as we are moving from a house in the country to a tiny flat in a large city and I have realised how much stuff we have and how much of it I don't need and indeed have never needed. I am now very selective in what I buy and agree with the book's concept of spending my money on experiences rather than things. All in all an easy, enjoyable read with a serious message behind it.

The book, although some interesting points, feels a little over-egged... It is a quick read... It's central tenet seems to be have experiences, rather than acquiring 'things'..as others have said it seems to be aimed at people with high disposable income.

Thanks for the copy. Not very far into it but certainly interesting and I can relate to the subject matter. An easier read than I expected
