I have recently got into reading books by Agatha Christie's contemporaries. Is there anyone else there who are into these type of stories?

I like Dr. Thorndyke the first forensic detective
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Thorndyke

and Radio 4 Extra has a series of the stories, and they have several other series that fit

A Case for Dr. Morelle - psychiatrist & detective

Several others

I have just collected Mystery in White by J Jefferson Farjeon from the library this morning. Am looming forward to a good wallow in old fashioned mystery this weekend :)

Looking, not looming :)

Excellent choice!Wink

I also enjoy Josephine Tey, although her stuff is a bit quirkier, and less easy to categorise as straight detective fiction.

Thanks for recommendations. I really liked Harriet Rutland, twists and surprises, but I think they are only on kindle.

I'm a classic crime fan too; don't like the forensic type ones. British Library crime classics are good, also Dornford Yates. Nothing beats "The Nine tailors" by Sayers imo though. I also like the first 2 Wimsey books written by Jill Paton Walsh; the others are less good.
