Blood Harvest by SJ Bolton. Mystery type book. Would happily curl into bed reading nightly - actually looked forward to it.

Now it's read. Any suggestions on a good book?

Just finished the crooked heart, it's fantastic , so far book of the year for me even though we are not even finished with January yet!!!

A new family moves into a small village. Strange things begin to happen when one of the boys sees a "ghost" Its like a mystery/murder mystery book.

Might have a scout in the local charity shops today

Wow... Seems pretty thrilling novel .. Want to get my hands on it.

I realise that description sounds pants maria but without saying what happens and giving it away, I cant really say more than that. Give it a google. It really was good.

If you're looking for a gripping new thriller/mystery - I'd recommend 'The Theseus Paradox'. It was as close to real crime as I think I've ever got with crime fiction. Proper insider info from an ex-detective who was actually there. Scary and stunning and shocking. Could not put it down! Lots of saucy behaviour in it too. .

It's here. The shit cover nearly put me off, but honestly, this is the best book I've read in the past 12 months. I've got a book hangover now. Nothing else feels real enough:

I just finished Claire Norths second book Touch.

I've read Blood Harvest, I remember it being quite good.

I've read a few of hers and liked them. They started out like stand alone books but now they seem to be turning into a series with a particular police woman (Lacey Flint I think she's called, and they have recurring characters from some of the other books cropping up as part of her story now.

I haven't read the last two actually, but I would like to.

Worth looking up her other books then Hygge?

I just finished I let you go by Claire mackintosh, if you like a thriller this was a good read. am going to add your recommendation to my list of books to look for!!

Last weekend I read Chris Brookmyre's latest, Black Widow, featuring regular not-quite-anti-hero Jack Parlabane. This is another in the more serious than comic vein that Brookmyre has been employing over the past few years, and Parlabane doesn't take quite the leading role that fans are used to. It's still a great read, and one of those stories where you want to go right back to the beginning to see how everything fits in once you've unravelled the mystery.

These threads always cost me a lot of money, I google all the books and then need to buy them

Nicki - If you have a Kindle, make a list of books you want to read on eReaderIQ and wait for their prices to drop. (It notifies you of price drops by email). Most of the books I read are bought under 2 quid, for this reason. It makes a real difference when you read over 50 books per year.

I've read this & really enjoyed it. I have also read two of her books with Lacey Flint in and have just started Little Black Lies. Definitely an author to "bookmark" (sorry for the awful pun!)
