MrsSpoon · 21/12/2006 22:51

Also The Bear Under the Stairs.

pinkchampagne · 21/12/2006 22:52

Agree that her books are fab! The Gruffalo & The Gruffalo's child are big favourites with my 3 year old DS.
Other favourites are We're going on a bear hunt (always a hit with young children) & Owl babies.

thewoodlandfairy · 21/12/2006 22:53

oh yes, Chimp & Zee by the Anholts
Charlotte Voake - Ginger the cat
there are loads but they only drift into my poor feeble mind at a very slow pace!

pinkchampagne · 21/12/2006 22:54

Oh yes, Chimp & Zee is another good one!

SnowMuchToBits · 21/12/2006 22:54

don't forget Room on the Broom, and Sharing a Shell (this one same author, different illustrator)

We are also big fans of Snail and Whale

popmum · 21/12/2006 22:54

The Whale & The Snail is DH's favourite. Mine is Room on the Broom! We also like;

Our Cat Cuddles by Gervase Phinn (lots of rhyming)
Winnie the Witch series by Valerie Thomas
Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper
Blue Kangaroo series by Emma Chichester Clark
George & The Dragon by Christopher Wormell
Lost & Found by Oliver Jeffers
Charlie & Lola books are very popular in this house right now.

Can you tell we like good illustrators?!?!

wethreebobkings · 23/12/2006 19:30

I am really really not liking Charlie and Lola.

Because it is written in sentences like the one above.

Ceolas · 23/12/2006 19:32

I do like C&L. We also love Blue Kangaroo

Wow! I learnt something today - what mellifluous means, having scrabbled for the dictionary after the last comment. Good word. Must read the book now!

(all rhyming as well)

and the Martin Waddell books about Big Bear and Little Bear
