I saw a mumsnet Facebook thing recently recommending good Christmassy reads but can't find it now.

I'm thinking of a bit of mystery, snow, fairy lights etc.

All suggestions welcome.... Ooh except rom coms. Grin

Thanks all

Every Christmas Eve I find a quiet moment and read A Child's Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas. It's very short, but captures the simplicity of Christmases a long time ago perfectly.

I also read Hardy's Under the Greenwood Tree every Christmas holiday as it begins at Christmas.

Not sure that either of these fit your criteria though.

DH enjoyed Mystery In White by J Jefferson Farjeon last Christmas - it's a Christmas crime story, published as part of the British Library Crime Classics series.

Thanks middle age....I will look out Dylan Thomas.

I think you get what I'm after as I read mystery in white last year!

krisskross Sorry, I can't think of any more Christmassy detective stories.

You only need fifteen minutes to read the Dylan Thomas, it really is very short. Our local bookshop have got it in a lovely edition, about the size of a playing card or a bit smaller, at the moment. I've bought a couple as stocking presents. You just need to make a hot drink, curl up somewhere quiet, and really enjoy it Smile

Thanks middle, sounds lovely!
Has anyone else got any suggestions please? Thanks
