I have to say, I wasn't enamoured of either The Colour Of Magic, or The Light Fantastic - Equal Rites was my turning point and I had only persevered because a friend was lending them to me, with the exhortation to "stick with them!" If it had been left up to me, I probably would have stopped after The Colour of Magic too. SO GLAD I didn't!

I tried the Carpet People, also Truckers, Diggers and Wings, but didn't at all find them easy to get into - just couldn't do it. I also bought Strata but again, not my thing.

However I LOVE the later "children's" books that he wrote, the Tiffany Aching books, Maurice and his Famous Educated Rodents etc.; and the non-discworld books, the Johnny series. (Highly reminiscent of Just William in style, another favourite of mine!) Good Omens also falls into this category (not so much for children though!) and is in my Top 10 Books of All Time.

I read Maurice and his Educated Rodents out loud to my boys as my first introduction to TP and was absolutely blown over by his humour. Now reading the Hogfather to the boys and hoping for the same. Anyone read these ones? What are they like in comparison to the adult books?
